Marcus Van Lyden
I commenced my photographic career as an apprentice news photographer for a local newspaper, giving me a positive grounding in professional photography. After a career change I continued to apply my photographic skills on an amateur basis until 2010 when I returned to professional photography.
Travelling extensively over the years, my journeys have been off the beaten track – and in the water as I have a love of scuba diving. My travelling and diving exploits have provided photographic opportunities to extensively expand my portfolio.
My previous occupation has given me a good schooling in studying human behaviour and mannerism and as a result I have concentrated my efforts on portraiture and designer fashion, a sphere in which I prefer to work. This has mainly involved specialising in photographing Black and South Asian models, a group that is unrepresented in the modelling industry.
This web site is curated to showcase my abilities through a snapshot sample of my work.
